Management at the IIMs — after 12th
You no longer have to wait for a graduate degree and CAT. 15 IIMs now run 18 undergraduate programmes — five-year integrated BBA + MBA, four-year BMS and B.S. degrees — that a student can enter directly from Class 12.
An IIM seat, five years earlier
The Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) admits students straight out of Class 12 and ends in an MBA from an IIM — the same degree, without the CAT race after graduation. Alongside IPM, several IIMs now offer standalone four-year BMS and B.S. degrees built on the NEP structure.
- Open to every stream — most programmes accept any 10+2 stream, not only Commerce.
- Three main gates: IPMAT (Indore), IPMAT (Rohtak) and JIPMAT (conducted by NTA).
- Written test then interview — nearly every programme adds a WAT/PI or SoP round after the test.
- Newer routes — CUET UG, SAT and institute-specific online tests are now used by some IIMs.

IPMAT — Indore
The widest key on the list. An IPMAT (Indore) score is used by IIM Indore itself and by Amritsar, Ranchi, Shillong and Sirmaur, so one test can put five institutes in reach.
IPMAT — Rohtak
Conducted separately by IIM Rohtak for its own IPM, and useful again for the five-year integrated law programme.
JIPMAT
Run by the NTA and used by IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu. A separate application from IPMAT — keep both calendars.
Institute tests and CUET
The newer B.S. and BMS degrees do not all sit behind IPMAT. IIM Bangalore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow and IIM Mumbai run their own tests, and IIM Sambalpur admits through CUET UG.
The round after the test
Almost every programme adds a written-ability task, a statement of purpose or a personal interview. Students who prepare only for the multiple-choice paper lose the seat at this stage.
Your board marks still count
Most programmes require 60% in Class 10 and 12 — a few want 70%. The entrance score cannot rescue a weak board result, which is why we run management prep alongside board coaching rather than instead of it.
